Choose a song or video

Some vocals or instruments may remain in the other stem, and processing can change the sound. Listen before downloading.

Downloads about 45 MB for the model, plus processing libraries. Your recording stays on this device.

The model is cached when browser storage allows. Your recording is not saved with it.

Remove vocals or keep only the voice

A vocal remover separates a mixed song into two parts: vocals and instrumental accompaniment. Download the instrumental to rehearse a cover or practise over a backing track. Download the vocals to study phrasing, compare harmonies or prepare a vocal edit. Both tracks come from the same separation, so you do not need to process the song twice.

DojoClip uses the SCNet AI model on your device. There is no editor to install and no server upload. The first run needs an internet connection to download the model and processing libraries; the music itself stays in your browser.

How to remove vocals from a song online

  1. Choose your audio or video. Select a file up to three minutes and 100 MiB. For a longer recording, trim the audio or trim the video first.
  2. Try the section that matters. Set the preview start time and separate up to 15 seconds. A chorus with singing and several instruments is more informative than a quiet intro.
  3. Compare the three versions. Switch between Original, Vocals and Instrumental. Listen for leftover singing, missing instruments and changes to the voice before processing the complete recording.
  4. Separate the full recording and download. Save either WAV stem. For a video, choose audio-only output or export the original picture with the vocal or instrumental soundtrack.

Turn a music video into a backing track

You do not have to extract the soundtrack first. Choose the video directly, then select Audio only (WAV) if you only need its vocals or backing track. Select Video to retain the original picture and replace the soundtrack with your chosen stem. You can change this choice after separation without running the model again.

Audio exports are stereo, 44.1 kHz float WAV files. Video output uses MP4 or WebM according to the source and supported codecs; additional audio tracks and subtitle tracks are not copied. Previews are audio only. A video export uses the complete recording, so a short preview cannot accidentally replace its full soundtrack.

Get a useful instrumental or vocal track

Start with the best source file you have. A heavily compressed, distorted or noisy recording gives the separator less usable detail. Check the loud chorus, consonants at the start of words, sustained notes and reverb tails. A result that works for singing practice may still contain artifacts you would notice in an exposed vocal edit.

Keep the original and compare before saving. This tool estimates a two-stem split; it does not restore missing audio or promise perfect isolation. If you are cleaning fan noise or hiss around spoken dialogue, use the background noise remover instead. If you want a completely silent video, remove its entire audio track.

Continue with your separated audio

Vocal removal questions

Is this vocal remover free, including downloads?

Yes. You can separate and download the vocals and instrumental without paying, signing up or using credits. Exports have no added DojoClip watermark. Each file is limited to three minutes and 100 MiB.

Does the song get uploaded to a server?

No. The SCNet separation model runs locally on your device. Your browser downloads about 45 MB of model data plus processing libraries, and caches the model when storage allows. Downloading these files does not upload your recording.

Can I remove vocals from MP3, WAV or MP4 files?

Choose a local audio or video file with a decodable mono or stereo soundtrack. MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, MP4 and WebM are examples; actual codec support depends on your browser. The limit is three minutes and 100 MiB. Video without audio cannot be separated.

Can I save just the audio from a video, or keep the picture?

Both. For video input, choose Audio only (WAV) for separate vocal and instrumental downloads, or Video to keep the original picture with one selected stem. Video export requires a complete separation and produces MP4 or WebM when supported. Changing output format reuses the completed stems.

Can I make a karaoke track or extract an acapella?

Use Instrumental for a backing track with the singing reduced, or Vocals for an acapella-style vocal track with accompaniment reduced. The tool creates these two stems together. It does not add timed lyrics, change the key, or separate drums, bass and other instruments into individual tracks.

Why can I still hear a voice or an instrument in the other track?

Separation estimates overlapping sounds from a finished mix. Vocal effects, harmonies and dense instrumentation can leave bleed or remove useful detail. Compare a preview containing the hardest part of your song. The result is not guaranteed to match original studio stems or separate individual singers.

Can I use this on a phone, and how long does processing take?

A current desktop browser is recommended. Processing is demanding and depends on your device, available memory and browser; phone performance is not guaranteed. Start with a preview of up to 15 seconds, keep the tab open and download the result before leaving.

Can I paste a YouTube or Spotify link?

No. This tool accepts files selected from your device, not streaming links. Choose a local recording you can use, or trim a longer local file before separating it. It does not download songs or fetch media from another website.
